After your visit at the Neuchâtel Ethnographic Museum (MEN), head for the town centre via the Collegiate Church and the Castle. This iconic site, appreciated as much for its beauty as for its superb view over the town and the lake, entices visitors to a short walk. The Chemin de Ronde boasts a 360° panoramic view. The Prison Tower bears witness to the city’s long history as it still overlooks Neuchâtel today. It is now home to the Tour du Fantastique, dedicated to the fantasy genre. As you make your way down towards Croix-du-Marché, you will find a wide variety of restaurants, cafés and bars. Place des Halles, with its lively terraces, is a key part of local life, especially on market days (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). If you wish to further your cultural experience, check what is on at the Temple du Bas or the Théâtre du Concert. The Town Hall, a historic building, also hosts events, such as Chocolatissimo in November, and offers guided tours (booking required). Finally, wander on to the Neuchâtel Natural History Museum, just a few minutes away on foot.
